Brewing Baby Shower

I love throwing parties it is the best excuse to clean your house and frantically shove things in random drawers as the first guests arrive. When my good friend Ferrin told me she was pregnant I got a- excited for her and b- excited to see if she might want to have a shower. I’m a big fan of couples’ baby showers. Contrary to popular belief the men do have a small part in the baby business and I think they should be there to celebrate too! We decided to have a beer and baby brewing theme. We apologized to Ferrin in advance because she couldn’t partake on the brew part, however she was providing the baby part which was equally important to the theme.

I have these gold frames from Target and I love to change out the pictures for different holidays or in this case parties. I used photos of Ferrin’s ultrasounds as well as photos of her other two boys as babies. The scalloped table cloth is also a good old Target find and allowed me to hide my streaky glass table from guests.

Here is a bit of a closer shot of the photos. I simply printed them out on my computer and just selected I wanted them in black and white. Easy peasy.

Ferrin’s husband and also the proud Baby Daddy has a thing for koozies so it was an easy decision to make sure we got some custom koozies as party favors. I found these fun ones on Etsy from Sip, Hip, Hooray!

Above our kitchen island I hung beer themed baby onsies and after the party I gave them to Ferrin. A few I found on Etsy and the rest on Amazon. From left to right: “Locally Brewed”, “Half Pint”, “IPA lot” and “Home Brewed”.

I made a bunch of monster cookies, as well as chocolate chip cookies and had a local neighbor lady make beer and bottle cookies! The growlers were something we had laying around and I picked up that wood letter board at Home Goods a couple weeks back and it made for a fun addition to the brew theme.

Here’s a close up of the adorable cookies. If you’re local to Austin check out Callie’s Sweet Treats- she does an amazing job!

It was a great party for great friends. I had too much wine, but I’d do it again over and over. Congratulations James and Ferrin! Baby Rhett is perfect.
