My parents absolutely adore each other and their admiration for each other has helped mold me into a lover of life, friends and especially family. Sorry to begin with such a cheesy line, but I felt it necessary for some reason. I started this website as a landing spot for what, I'm not sure yet. I know the importance of goals (I can thank my Dad for the constant pressure of setting goals and laying out the steps to achieving them), but so far there aren't any goal present in this space. I'm 50/50 planner/fly by the seat of my pants type person and this website and online presence falls into the fly by the seat of my pants category.
So this particular page serves as a bit of a background on the recipe that it takes to understand who I am (if you're into that sort of thing). Recipes can change and evolve, and there might be an ingredient here or there that could possibly be omitted or substituted, but for now this is the tried and true. So give me a scroll down if you'd like for the recipe (recipe social media video coming soon- kidding but it's a possibility). I'm sure you've got time to look. I know you're either avoiding family interaction, avoiding work or avoiding an awkward social situation so scroll down for some mindless reading and avoid the awkward.
These two have passed on many wonderful qualities in myself that as I grow older I'm beginning to recognize more and more.
My Dad has a love for comedy classics ranging from 'Blazing Saddles' to 'Old School'. I cherish the time we get to spend together watching these movies (even if I have to cringe through a few sex scenes). His enjoyment of slapstick comedies with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 19% has fortunately been a trait I've avoided so far. Dad's the life of the party and enjoys telling a good story. He might spend a long time on unnecessary details, but stick around I promise you it will be worth it in the end.
My Mother on the other hand dishes a mean dose of dry sarcasm. Blink and you might miss it. Majority of people tend to think she's completely serious, but my best advice would be to take about 13% of what comes out of her mouth seriously. Often times she's the only person in the world who understands my jokes.
Brendan is by far the funniest person I know. He makes me bust my gut laughing each and everyday. It's a hidden talent of his and it really takes some time for it to shine. That's one of the most admirable things about him, he doesn't put on a show for anyone- if you like him then you like him. Once you get to see the vulnerable funny side of Brendan I can guarantee you'll want to stick around.
We went to preschool, elementary school, middle school and high school together, but didn't start dating until college. I couldn't be more thankful that he came to visit me in at my apartment in Boulder. It was there he saw the Biggie Smalls poster over my bed and instantly fell in love.
180 pounds of chocolate lab we have running around our house. Carmelo is the oldest0 can you guess which one he is? I'm kidding he's obviously the one with the white face, but don't let that fool you he's had that since he was 3 years old.
Willie is younger by a year, but continues to act as though he's a 6 month old puppy. He's full of life and a tail that just won't quit.
I have three kids, that in itself is a joke. I can't believe it, still. Three kids, that's a lot of kids. Raegan is the oldest, followed by Connor and finally Ella. These three keep me young, actually that's not a true statement at all- they do the opposite of that. I can attribute many gray hairs, wrinkles, bags under my eyes and sleepless nights to these 3, but you know what they say, "I wouldn't trade it for anything". Except possibly a solid night of sleep, just once a month maybe? Then I promise I'll come back home.
Anna Banana is my sister who's greatest gift is the ability to make you laugh when she's not trying to at all. Now that may sound like a backhanded compliment, but I can assure you it's not. Anna is hilarious, she just doesn't know it. She manages to bring humor into unexpected situations and keep those around her on their toes. She's always been my hero and always will be.
